We get questions from friends and family members all the time on how to best choose a dentist for their children. The truth is: ALL CHILDREN NEED TO SEE A DENTIST.
Two things you should know before choosing a dentist for your child:
1. Most general practicing dentists do not see babies, and for that, parents need to see a Pediatric Dentist. Pediatric Dentists like to start seeing babies at age 1, or when their teeth start showing up.
2. Most family dentists are not trained to work with children that have special needs. While you might be seeing a family physician, most are not trained to manage children with special needs, such as Downs Syndrome, Autism, or children with anxiety disorders.
At On The Cusp Pediatric Dentistry, our mission is “to guide, comfort, and support each child through tenderness and love; to profoundly impact each family by exceeding exceptions.” Our doctors and staff are specially trained to work on children with special needs and we count it an honor to work with kids of all ages! If you’re looking for a Pediatric Dentist, we would love to stand beside your child on their journey to health.
