Have you ever found yourself concerned about when your newborn’s teeth should be coming in? Patients often ask when they should expect the first teeth to appear. While the age range for teeth appearing varies, you can expect to start seeing teeth around 6 months of age. If your baby is 6 months and not showing any growth, it’s okay! They may be taking a bit longer to start the growing process.

A good friend of our practice became anxious when her 18 month old showed no signs of teeth coming in. She even took an x-ray of her baby’s mouth to make sure her baby had teeth!  Her baby was just fine, and simply taking longer to start growing teeth.  This is a great example of why we tell our patients not to worry too much about the timeline for teeth growth.

If you find yourself overly concerned or have questions, come visit us at On The Cusp. Our number one priority is your child’s health and your peace of mind.
