Good news! For the second year in a row, On the Cusp is joining the fight against dental disease by providing free screenings for elementary school children.
This is a part of a week-long effort called “Back to School with a Healthy Smile”, when dentists from across the state will volunteer their time to screen thousands of Oklahoma school children for tooth decay.
Why are we doing this?
- Most people don’t realize it, but tooth decay is the single most common disease among Oklahoma school children, affecting an estimated 50% of first-graders and 71% of third-graders.
- Millions of school hours are lost each year due to dental-related problems.
- Dental disease has a direct impact on kids’ eating, sleeping, and performance in the classroom.
That’s why early detection is vital.
It just takes a few minutes to get an assessment of your child’s dental health and identify any problems he or she may have.
The free screenings will be provided at our office on Thursday, September 11th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
No appointment is necessary. Your child does not need to be a current patient to take advantage of this opportunity.
